On March 1, 2023, the University of Zakho participated in the first meeting of the “TeachersMOD” project, a collaboration involving five universities from the Kurdistan Region, three European universities, and the organization UNIMED.

The university delegation was led by the President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz. The Director of International Relations, Dr. Nizar I. Ali, delivered a lecture during the first day's activities, while Dr. Othman Abdulkarim Omar, Dean of the College of Basic Education, gave a lecture during the second day's events.

The project aims to enhance the educational landscape, improve the skills of faculty members and students in colleges of education, and teach them methods of dialogue, discussion, and exchanging opinions. Additionally, it seeks to evaluate teaching curricula and their effectiveness.
